What is Angelman Syndrome?
Individuals with Angelman Syndrome often exhibit a happy and excitable personality, with frequent laughter and smiling. Communication challenges, movement and balance issues, seizures, and sleep disturbances are common features. The syndrome is caused by a genetic abnormality affecting a specific gene on chromosome 15. While there is currently no cure, supportive therapies and interventions can improve the quality of life for individuals with Angelman Syndrome.
