Angelman Syndrome

What is Angelman Syndrome?

Individuals with Angelman Syndrome often exhibit a happy and excitable personality, with frequent laughter and smiling. Communication challenges, movement and balance issues, seizures, and sleep disturbances are common features. The syndrome is caused by a genetic abnormality affecting a specific gene on chromosome 15. While there is currently no cure, supportive therapies and interventions can improve the quality of life for individuals with Angelman Syndrome. Understanding and raising awareness about this condition are crucial steps towards providing better support and care for affected individuals and their families.
